Hi, we are soon to be proud owners of a scamp 16'

We should be leaving out on Father's Day to make a 3 day trip to pick up our new Scamp.
We have gone the whole route from class c to Airstream 25' to 35' class A to a 38' Montana 5th wheel. We enjoyed them all but now we wanted something for short weekend get aways to Parks and shorelines around us.
We will be towing with a 3.6r Subaru Outback (6 cyl).
If anyone has a similar rig we would appreciate any tips or info on your mileage etc.
We are getting Layout 6.
Question now is what size is the dinette bed? I'm thinking more of a full size not queen or even rv queen. Does anyone have the measurements or can clue us to the size?
Also I have noticed a big mod many make is to put a false floor in the shower area so your feet don't dangle like a 6 year old while on the commode . Does anyone have the measurements so maybe I can get on making that before we head out.
Thanks again in advance

Congrats on the downsized camper, we just did the same thing but found a Casita. Same floor plan as the #6 scamp and the one we liked best. Not sure if all specs are the same on bed and our toilet is built up from the shower floor, but there is ample room for your heels to hang onto Im thinking, havent had to sit on it yet but no gripes from the wife. A pair of elevated Elton John shoes would take up less space. I am very happy with our mileage pulling ours but It is a small v8. Good luck with it!

Camping World sells a wood floor pad that covers an RV shower floor. This adds about 2 inches of height to the floor and keeps your feet out off the fiberglass floor while showering. We bought one to raise the height of our Porta Potti. You could put it on the floor so your feet reach while sitting.

The S-16 standard dinette bed is 43" wide. Scamp just started putting in a 54" bed in the S-13 standard but not in the 16 yet. You can get a 54" bed in a 16 delux but not sure if you can get it in a #6 layout because of the dinette, call Scamp to check if you can.
I tow a S-13 with a 2011 4 cyl Outback and it does fine. I know of others towing S-16 with Outbacks. Last fall at a meet 6 out of 32 campers were towed by Outbacks or Foresters. I get about 23 MPG pulling the S-13 I have pulled a S-16 and got about 21MPG.

Congratulations! It does not matter what brand trailer you have. Whatever it is you'll love it. We have gone up and down the size scale and are now at the exact spot desired with our 17 ft EggCamper. If/when we sell our 31 ft Kodiak, all will be golden.

Hi Murphy, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here!

Waiting for the egg hatch is nailbitting, but once you get it "Let the Memories Begin"!

Please post pictures when you can, we love pics!
