Hi We're Allen and Sonja From FL

We've been trolling this site for awhile and finally found a 1981 scamp in Florida to buy. We didn't want to drive to another State so we probably paid a little more then we should have, but she's ours now and we are already having a ball putting our stamp on it. Poor DH is going to have to reinforce the frame and change the axel. On the bright side, everything else looks pretty good and I get to start interior work right away:0.
All the info on this site has been so helpful. We were sad to miss the FL rally but we were bringing her home that weekend!!! Next year we are in!!!!

We have named her........Peregrina

Welcome, Sonja and Allen,
Congratulations on Peregrina. You have even found an unusual name.

Welcome Sonja and Allen. Wow the second trailer name I had to look up this year. I guess it was named after the Cuban shrub?

The origins of La Peregrina and La Pelerina are identical on the respective Wikipedia sites. That is odd. But the histories of both are interesting!

Well, that pearl reference makes more sense than my guess, that Perigrina was a Spanish word for a falcon.

Welcome ! Scamps are so fun to personalize. Looks like you've already started with a unique name. Enjoy the process !

Congrats
I am also from Florida and I have been been searching for months close to a year and haven't found one yet. I wonder if I should take a long trip to another state to find one that I can buy. LOL I have upped my budget (7K) and still no luck.
I am not giving up cause an FGRV is what I want

Peregrina wow did not think to name ours will have to contemplate the idea with Carole

Welcome to the club, ask questions and check past posts for any help you may need.

We also may have paid premium but ours did not need any major fixing
Just swap the new car tires on it for new trailer ST radial tires, new hot water tank, fix rear lights and other minor items

Fun to have, will have to do a little outside work this summer and still want to shed some more pounds off, and fix the furnace to be reliable on ours. Nothing like frame or axle work; hope your work goes well and you have a great time camping.

Keep the wind to your back and enjoy the ride

Didn't mean for anyone to get mad at me. I love camping, and enjoy being part of this website. I've been camping for 40 years.

Best Regards,
Tony
