Howdy from the Catskills!

Hi, My name is Gail and I split my time between New York City and the Catskills. I am in the market for something between 13 and 16 feet. I am undecided as to whether I need a bathroom or not, but I am leaning towards fully contained.

I have never owned a camper before, so please be gentle.

Peace,
Gail

Welcome! I hope you find one quickly so you can start enjoying the camping. Do you have a tow vehicle already?

We have a Honda CRV - which can tow something like 1500lbs if it has no brakes, which is why I am focusing on 13 footers. I can tow 3000 if it has brakes, but as a novice it may be best to stick with 13' - which probably means no toilet.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone looking to buy a fiberglass TT for the first time, what would it be?

Try to attend a egg rally and see as many campers as you can before you buy.

Gail, we are towing a 13 foot Uhaul camper, 1300 pounds empty, with a 2003 Honda CRV. Twice to Georgia and back with no problems, no brakes on the trailer. There is one for sale I believe around Mystic CT. Also a 16 foot Uhaul in NY but I wouldn't recommend it to tow with your CRV.

Many kind souls have messaged me privately about towing and I am definitely grateful. It looks like a nice 1000lbs or under would be perfect for this newbie.
