I just bought a trailer so now we can be friends

Hi everyone, I'm Jordan from Canada, currently camping in beautiful British Columbia. Last week I bought a 1976 Carefree camping trailer. It's 14 or 15 feet long and I'm pretty sure it's made of fibreglass. I'm rather clueless about it, but excited to learn.

I want to make some changes to maximize space and organization. I still need to get the fridge running, not sure how that works. Install awning. Eventually hook up solar power.

I work as a treeplanter - for the past 9 seasons - up until now residing in a tent. The luxury of a trailer is going to be glorious. I also participate in a bunch of festivals in the summer. So its going to get a lot of use. I am a happy camper.

NEATO! We actually have 21 members who own Carefree's although most haven't posted or posted very little. You may want to touch bases with sch0enne. He has some interesting information in the threads.

I'm curious about the fridge; those outside vents are really close together.

Interior photos and thanks for your comments.

Thanks everyone for your interest. I feel welcome. I think I lucked out with this little trailer, it's in good condition. I love the kitchen (but the sink smells and I need to figure out the water system ). It's so nice to make coffee in the morning with so little setup. I'm so looking forward to getting to know it and incorporate my own design elements. I look forward to getting to know you guys too!

I'm rather curious about the fridge too. I'm just using it as an icebox so far....not sure how to start it up.

There are a number of owner's manuals available as PDF files in the Document Center:
Fiberglass RV - Document Center

A quick check showed one for an RM24a and an RM2410. If you can verify the exact model number of your fridge, someone here can probably tell you which, if any, will help you figure yours out.

Looks like a really nice trailer, by the way! Definitely a big step up from a tent! Enjoy!

Welcome, Jordan! Despite the unknown things about it, from what we can see it looks like a fantastic camper....in excellent condition. You DID luck out!

Treeplanting is such hard work and you have now a beautiful little home to return to at the end of a long day.

Some say the coffee tastes better when made in one of our little campers.

Did you find it on Kijiji?

Jorden that is one fine looking little trailer. Hope you get the fridge figured out soon. If you ever come way south do it in the winter I didn't see an ac. I know someone will be able to help you out a friendly bunch here.

I found it on Kijiji for $4000. Best coffee I ever had. Thanks for the ideas about the fridge. I will look into the manuals tomorrow.

LOVE it! nice kitchen for such a small camper. I have been trying hard to cut down on the amount of leftovers, since that's where most of our fridge space goes. DH doesn't care for leftovers. The rest of the world manages with fridges half the size of a standard USAn fridge, so I should be able to also, true?
