Just thought i would stop by and introduce myself. I have a 1979
Boler 1700 SGH. Tow vehicle is a 2013 Honda Ridgeline.
In many ways it is original.
Furnace, water heater,
fridge.
Upgrades before me:
1. new upholstery.
2. 3500 lb
axle
Upgrades completed in last 2 weeks.
1. Mouse hole revmoved in favour of a 30 Amp inlet
2. Old
battery boiler converter removed and replaced with progressive dynamics 9245.
3. Automatic transfer switch
4. 1000W pure sine power inverter
5. 2 55Ah Optima yellow tops
6. Properly fused equipment
7. Portable 180watt
solar panel added with built in charge controller
Drain waste system:
Leaky grey and black pipes. Don't waste your time with any quick fixes (epoxy tank patches or pipe wraps) they don't work.
1. Repiped shower p trap.
2. Grey lines
3. Black line
It was a pain in the butt too. After working all day on it, I still had leaks! All from the threads of both tanks.
How to seal? I rewrapped the fittings with 4-5 layers of teflon tape and put a rubber gasket at the bottom of the threads. No more leaks!
Kitchen taps:
With the hot water heater located directly under the taps this was another pain in the butt job. And there are no sink line shut-offs?! Cut off black polybutalene pipe and fittings added new T fittings with proper shut offs and new flexible lines to the new tap which waa now, suddenly leaking from where the faucet meets the taps.
LEDs:
1. All interior
lights replaced with warm white.
2. Rear
tail lights replaced with Princess Auto round 7"
tail lights.
Any questions?
I have pics of most of this but the site won't let me attach them from my phone. I'll try from my computer later.
Thanks for reading, and thanks for this forum!
