Delays upon delays, but finished up the body work! It’s not perfect but it’s pretty good, with everything that needed repairs done. The surface could be a little more even in a few places I missed.

Primed and one coat of Pettit Easypoxy is applied, I’ll do a second coat tomorrow and install the new lights and reseal the windows. I’m hoping to have it home (I took it to work to paint) and get started on the interior. Time will be fragmented with the impending arrival of baby 3, but looking forward to working on the inside!

Amerigo progress

Well, got it put back together and sealed up just in time to have our third child. A happy delay, but I definitely want to get this project done by the spring. If my kids want to use this with us, they’ll have to help. My oldest doesn’t mind scrubbing!

I replaced a couple of the window frames, and am replacing the floors. I have them and the new door frame cut out and ready to go. I just need to clean up the floors a little more and wait for the weather to break next weekend… non-stop rain here in WA!

Many thanks to the many people who advised keeping all the old interior to use as a pattern, huge help. Hopefully more progress coming up soon!

I traced the new floor using the old floors as a pattern, then used a jigsaw to cut them out. I then used the new floors as a pattern for the LVP I’m putting in, and cut that to size prior to installing anything. I had to wait for two sunny days in a row, a rarity here in the PNW for the foreseeable future, but was able to knock it out and get the front floor in and new doorframe reinstalled.

My door doesn’t fit flush at all, I’m not exactly sure how to straighten the hinges but there’s a gap on the bottom hinge side. The frame is as flush and straight as could be. It would be nice if these were available to order but I’ll have to figure out how to straighten them.

More pics to follow once I’m done with the flooring. It should be faster now that I’m not waiting on weather, as she’s finally watertight again! (Minus the door gap, which doesn’t actually leak)

Joe, can you post some pics of your door/hinge issues?
it's been several years back but I recall another forum member asking about hinges on their fg-16 and they had 2 different profiles on them. The top/bottom hinges on mine were identical. I think we determined one of his got bent somehow. Have you tried switching them from top to bottom to see if the door fits any better?

I haven’t tried switching them yet, next time I have time and it’s not actively raining I’ll try that.

As you can see I haven’t painted the door yet, I wound up in a heck of a time crunch getting it painted. That might have to wait for spring at this point!

I tried switching the hinges, no change. I’m a little at a loss, I can’t figure out how to bend them to where I need them. I’ll play around with it more.

Floors are in and done! I’m happy with how the LVP turned out. Next up I’ll be replacing one last window frame, then start framing up the cabinets.

I’m still having food issues. The door is still fairly canted, and I can’t find the slide in t-bit tube to completely seal it. Anyone have resources here?

Other than that, I cut out the wall panels and am installing the benches now that I’ve rebuilt the frames. Glad to be making progress, but just had my orders here cut by a year… I’ve gotta finish this up so that I can move! Unfortunately won’t be able to use it much for the next couple of years.
