Just got the new toy

Hi, we are Tony, Colleen and Levi. I've been around for a spell learning what I can from the kind and experienced folks on this website. Anyway we picked up our 13 foot Scamp up in Backus at the beginning of the month. It was a good experience. We then bolted off to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin for 2 nights. It was a good test of the trailer and us since we did not have any hookups. The bugs were rough, but we dealt with it. Then off to the Upper Peninsula and Tahquamenon Falls. 5 nights there. Very beautiful. We ended up visiting a friend near Battle Creek and staid at a county park over night. Again, no hook up. We were just sleeping there and having some oatmeal in the AM. Beautiful weather highs in the upper 70s and the lows dropped into the upper 40s for two nights.

The Scamp was great, everything worked, no leaks even though we had two good rain events. I did get to play with my small Yamaha generator even though I probably didn't really need to. It worked as well. One interesting fun fact about Scamp that I learned; they recently upped production from 10 to 14 units a week.

Anyway, we are so pleased to have joined the ranks. Now to see what we can see.

Tahquamenon Falls is a great place to visit.. one of the highlights on my trip back to Backus last summer. Did you rent a boat and go over to island?

We did, Levi wasn't sure what to do in the boat. I'm glad that he decided to stay in it. We enjoyed watching the crazy people play in the water so close to the falls. The water really looks like a root beer float. It picks up the brown color from the minerals and decaying vegetation unique to that area. I forget what causes the foam, probably the same thing together with the agitation of the falls. very unique.

Great photo, What is your dog's name?
