Hello FGRV Family!

My name is Darilyn but my friends call me Lady D, partially b/c of my history traveling on the Renaissance Faire circuit...

I am finally one of you now! I'd been considering upgrading from tenting with an air mattress to a pop-up when I visited a fried who had recently bought a 13' Burro, and it was love at first sight! Once I realized that I could pull one with my '03 Subaru Forester I started furiously searching for one... Alas, living on the East Coast, in the Philly Suburbs, there are not too many to be found... But I searched on...

After a few false starts, including a ridiculous Craigslist scam artist posing to be an army corporal and offering to ship the camper to me free of charge from Washington state, I was on the FGRV for sale site and I saw the ad that would change my life - a 2010 13' Scamp had been listed the day before and was located 3 1/2 hours from my home. Made an appt for the following day & rushed to the bank, (it was 1:30 on a Saturday and the bank closed at 2) ...

Drove out that Sunday and met up with the delightful couple who were the current owners but I knew right away, me and that scamp were meant to be together...

Well, that was last weekend... Over the following week I had the hitch/trailer wiring installed, had the transmission serviced on my Forester, watched you tube tutorials on how do drive with a travel trailer, then I went and brought her home yesterday... Spent the night camping out in my driveway last night & fell asleep with a smile on my face...

So that's my/our story... During the search process I spent a lot of time trolling the forums on this site & I can tell you all are a friendly, supportive, delightful group & I am so glad to be able to introduce myself and my egg...

Ohh, was he in germany, soon to go to afghanistan or some such thing? I'm pretty sure I talked to him about a teardrop. I went from wanting a teardrop to a 19' fifth wheel...oops.
