Looking for FGRV to fit a 6'4" tall people!
Hi All!
I'm new to the FGRV world, but it looks like the answer to all the failings of wood and glue trailers! Problem is, I'm 6'4" tall. Starting looking at Casita, but all their models max out at 6'2".
Are there brands that cater to a guy my height?
Thanks for the help.
Mike

Are you looking at roof height, or bed size? Hint: Correct answer is the latter
Bed size is much more important. I'm not that up on bed sizes in different brands but someone will be along who is. And you can search the forum (use Google). But I suggest you search for "bed size" and not "roof height."

Not many, unfortunately. Two smaller trailers that fit the bill (on both counts, bed length and ceiling height) are Parkliner and Lil Snoozy. Both have transverse queen beds, 60”x80”, and something like 6’5” of headroom. The latter is all-electric, so it will require some modification for dry camping.
Both went out of business. I think the Snoozy might be back under new ownership as the Snoozy 2, but I haven’t heard any recent updates. The Parkliner molds were sold (both versions, to two different parties, I believe). There are plans to bring it back, but only plans at this point.
They’re much rarer than Casitas, but used units do come up.
Speaking of which… the Casita Liberty and Independence have 7’ longways beds. Many people report a little stooping to move around is not as big an issue in a small trailer, but at 5’7”, I can’t speak for myself. Downside of the Liberty and Independence layouts is the lack of a separate dinette or seating area.

We had a 6' 5" fellow look at our Escape 5.0. He could walk anywhere, except he couldn't stand in the dinette where the raised floor put the ceiling at 6' 4". I laughed because we never stand in our dinette anyway. The rest runs from 6'4" to 7'.
The full sized queen bed is north/south, so you can hang your feet over the edge if you wish.
It is a 5th wheel though.
Enjoy,
Perry

I have discovered that a man seldom stands bolt upright like he's being measured.
A Scamp is 6'3" inside, take your hat off while inside and slouch a little like normal.
My wife and I once considered going "Ballroom Dancing", so we got all dressed up and went out to our Scamp. We soon discovered that the trailer was more suited to Campin' than Dancin'!!

I believe the Egg camper can accommodate tall people...look for that brand. Just looked up EggCamper on this site, and those selling say interior height is
6' 7"

If you need headroom, I suggest looking for an older Parkliner. Parkliners where only built from 2011 to 2019, so even an older one isn't that old.
My husband is 6'2" and has mobility issues. We had a Burro but it was not tall enough for him, so we did the same thing you are, looked for a trailer with more headroom. What we found was our 2011 Parkliner and it has 6'7" interior height in it. The bathroom closet you do have to duck down to get through the door and use. Beware that the entry door you do have to duck down, but its not bad. The Parkliner does have a queen size bed (we put in a casita queen size mattress).
I will say, we love our Parkliner. It is a small trailer but has a big trailer feel to us with all the headroom we have.
There are not many FG trailers that have tall interiors, EggCamp or Oliver come close in interior height to the Parkliner.

I've scabbed the top of my head going out the entry door on just about every camper we've owned! This seems to be one new trick this old dog just doesn't get.
Enjoy,
Perry

The escape trailers are generally 6'4" at ceiling height, except under the air conditioner. The Standard 21' comes with an extended full bed, and the 19' comes with a queen sized bed. I am not sure how big the bed is in a 17'

Good catch- forgot that one. I think the bed is a full 80" long, too, but not 100% sure. Like Lil Snoozy it's all-electric, so similar modifications would be necessary for off-grid use. I believe a few early units did include propane.
Like Lil Snoozy and Parkliner, it's also out of production, but may be coming back under new ownership.

Our 1980s Bigfoot 5th wheel has a full-sized (60"x80") queen size mattress with several inches at the foot to spare. It's also pretty roomy as far as head-height goes inside. You'd have to duck to go into the bathroom but I think you should stand up in the shower. My husband is 6'1" or 6'2" and he loves the size of it.
We had an older 16' Scamp that we LOVED but the bed was too small and my husband's hair brushed on the ceiling. I'd imagine the Casitas are of similar size. We would love to test out a Scamp 5th wheel but haven't had the opportunity.
Is the Oliver built with tall people in mind?
Good luck!

I’m 6’3” (used to be 6’4”!) and our Escape 19 fits fine except for under the A/C. The standard E19 Queen size bed was a must for me and is very comfortable on long trips as well as short ones.

Trillium 5500 has the ceiling height and the bed length
Hi, as a person who stands 6'3" I totally get the request. I purchased a used Trillium 5500 and totally renovated it, and it has the ability to have up to a 86" long bed, and comes with a ~6' 5" ceiling. Keep in mind they are hard to find, but worth the in the end as I'm not aware of another fiberglass camper as wide, as tall and has such a low towing weight.

When I was younger I always wished I was a little taller. Now I’m older I wish I wasn’t quite so wide. Can’t have it all.
