michigan campers
i'm double posting this as it may be just what we were looking for.
we had been discussing a campout gathering in august.
another group i belong to has one planned for 9 day starting friday the third and going threw the following week.
we would start in the east and camp our way acrossed to the west where we would meet up with a fellow group from wisconson.
you wouldn't have to make the whole trip, you can do the first weekend or any part of the week you could manage.
i have asked the group planning this outing if they would mind if we join them. so i'm waiting for that response.
i expect them to welcome us with open arms.

This looks like a fun time. I have been looking into taking the camper and the kids to the Porcupine Mountains. Those dates are to close to Minnesota State Fair dates though which are priority for me. Hope you all have fun.

I will be visiting my family at Lake Gogebic off and on this summer. What dates will you be there? Also, which park will you be at? State or County. My sister will have her Scamper there too. I believe they will be at the County Park.

John, I lead hikes for a local club. I've found that it is best to just schedule the event, publicize it and plan to go and enjoy myself. If others show up, great. Otherwise just enjoy yourself. People hate to commit.

I want to go. I would like to meet some people from the forum and I would love to see some of the other campers. I don't have my summer schedule worked out yet though. I do art shows in the summer and I just camp in between a bit. I have never moved from camp site to camps site like that. It sounds like bar hopping. Don't you ever feel like you just settled in and now it's time to go or is your set up so simple that you can move it without much effort? I am especially interested in meeting you at Lake Gogebic since my whole family will be there most of the summer and Marenisco is my mother's home town. In July, we fill almost half of the Gogebic County campgrounds.
