Mystery trailer -Sasad from Budapest
Hello everyone, new to the page! We bought this trailer recently and can't find anything online about it. It's a 1982 Sasad FT 600 from Budapest. Has anyone heard of it?

It's a fine looking trailer! And it sure is an interesting little trailer. I wonder what the story of it's journey to CA is? It's very unusual for European trailers to make it to the US because of the very different standards for trailer construction and towing in Europe. You likely have the only one in the U.S. There certainly can't be many, in any event.
In US-built trailers, all of the appliances, even dating back to the '60s, are pretty much over-the-counter stock items, and if you can't find replacement parts, you can just replace the component. I'd guess that EVERYTHING on that trailer will be a custom repair/replacement job as likely even the pipe fittings for the LP won't be US standard.
It will be interesting to see what you do with it. Please keep us informed!

"She is Hungarian!!"
Yes, its story would be very interesting.
Weight 530 kg x 2.2 = 1060 lbs - pretty light
Year: 1982
Is it serial number 004? - anybody here who could make a better guess?
What is the shell material?

Love it
I am surprised the door is on the right side.... Many trailers from across "the pond"... Are on the left side
Love it and really like the arc on the door

Is it molded fiberglass? Doesn't seem so.
Are continental trailers built with left side doors? I thought that would be UK only.
Anyway I agree, very attractive. What's the plumbing like? Bathroom? Holding tanks?

The last one to switch from left side to right side driving on the Continent was Sweden in 1967. England is the only country left (on the left). The English caravans would have the door on the "wrong" side.

Heather, Where are you in Calif ? There are two fb trailer meets coming up in N Calif. + the Oregon Gathering in mid summer. I would love to see this. I checked some of my photos I took of caravans on the continent, all are right side doors like ours because they drive on the right. I've camped a bit in the UK also, theirs are on the left. UK campgrounds are often just pastures that are mowed for the short camping season. Not many luxury "RV Resorts" like we have. I think you would also fit in with vintage campouts, which there are many of in Calif. Check out " Vintage Campers Trailers " magazine and website. Headquartered near Sacramento. Hope to see you soon. David in Sonora and Fresno.

Carol, Paul may mean that England is the only one on the left in Europe . (England roughly meaning the UK ? ). Yes, Ireland and Scotland still drive on the left; I rode around Scotland on a motorcycle pulling a trailer. Clear around the top , over 1000 miles. But many other countries in the world drive on the left, including Japan. David in Fresno and Sonora

LOL yup I suspect your correct but I know a few Irishman who would strongly object to being group in with the United Kingdom ;-) Ireland has been a free state since the early 20's.
Yes many former British colonies remain left hand drive including Australia, NZ, Hong Kong, South Africa etc.
