New 1977 Scamp 13 owner from Milwaukee, WI

Hey all!!
I just picked up a 1977 Scamp 13.
As I was towing it home, one of the tires blew out. I was on the side of the interstate for a few hours waiting on AAA to arrive.

It needs alot of updating. the kitchenette was removed, it smells bad, cushions are all missing, the upper bunk is gone, lower part of the door is in bad shape.

The day I got it home, it down poured, and it was perfectly dry in the inside!!

My plans for this neat little camper are...

-CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, gut the flooring, bleach the inside...

-Re-seal windows and get new weather striping doors. Whats worked best for everyone??

-Paint inside

-Lay some new flooring down. Im thinking a teak wood grain linoleum

-New tires, I was quoted $70 each from Farm and Fleet. Does that sound right??

-New kitchenette. thinking of finding, or building something to fill that gap. Id like a sink and burner still, but dont care about the fridge. The wires and pipes still there.

-a Fantastic Fan. Im not sure on what model I should get. Any advice?

- Minty Boomerang Laminate on the table

- Putting a permanent cooler under the lower bunk

-New upper bunk

-Fix the lower part of the door

-Find a cushion replacement. No way am I paying $550 from Scamp for theirs!!

Any advice or words of wisdom would be great!!!!

Thanks!!!

Any S.E. Wisconsin people on this board??

HI Dustin, to FiberglassRV. If you bought a nearly 40 year old trailer and it doesn't leak... you scored! Everything else is doable given time, budget and desires. One thing about the kitchen being removed, you can always make the bed bigger!

Also, if anyone from around Milwaukee or Chicago has any extra scamp 13 parts, let me know. I'm looking to build this thing up on the cheap.

I'm looking for cushions, a upper bunk, a hollow kitchenette, a main door.
