I just picked up a 1977 Scamp
As I was towing it home, one of the tires
blew out. I was on the side of the interstate for a few hours waiting on AAA to arrive.
It needs alot of updating. the kitchenette was removed, it smells bad, cushions are all missing, the upper bunk is gone, lower part of the door is in bad shape.
The day I got it home, it down poured, and it was perfectly dry in the inside!!
My plans for this neat little camper are...
-CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN, gut the flooring, bleach the inside...
and get new weather striping doors. Whats worked best for everyone??
-Lay some new flooring down. Im thinking a teak wood grain linoleum
, I was quoted $70 each from Farm and Fleet. Does that sound right??
-New kitchenette. thinking of finding, or building something to fill that gap. Id like a sink and burner still, but dont care about the fridge
. The wires and pipes still there.
-a Fantastic Fan. Im not sure on what model I should get. Any advice?
- Minty Boomerang Laminate on the table
- Putting a permanent cooler under the lower bunk
-New upper bunk
-Fix the lower part of the door
-Find a cushion replacement. No way am I paying $550 from Scamp
Any advice or words of wisdom would be great!!!!
Any S.E. Wisconsin people on this board??
