I just bought a 13' 1979
Burro a couple of weeks ago and am excited to get out and use it! My 14 year old son plays and performs bluegrass music, and there are lots of nearby festivals where camping is the norm. We've been looking for a year or so for one of the small
fiberglass eggs to tow behind my 4WD station wagon.
I spent the last two weeks cleaning up all the old double sided tape and caulk remnants inside from the previous owner (what were they thinking??
) and then dropped it off yesterday at a reputable RV repair facility where they are going to look it over for safety, test the systems etc, fix anything that needs it, and teach me how to use everything (although I think I've figured that out already).
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing super critical is found wrong with it (like a bad frame or axel). Then I'll bring it home and have my laborers (eg two teenage sons) buff and polish the exterior. I'm not particularly fond of the faux wood decor, albeit period authentic, so cosmetic improvements may be in the future as well. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of other folk's projects and getting ideas and advice.
