New cadet 1988 owner

Hi everyone!

I'm the new owner of a 1988 cadet. I'M from Québec, Canada and I speack french so please excuse my poor english.

I bought this nice camper because it's very light (and it's probably the only thing my car could tow) and I was a little tired of sleeping in my car, i'm getting older! I'm now looking for informations on what should I do to keep it in good condition. I'm not sure if it has ever been retored, inside look preaty old but still in great shape. I think fromt and read window are not the original one. This forum is full of informtion, I'm glad I found it!!

Is there any website that explain the really really basics for cadet camper? I have so many question about the fonctionality of so many parts... must be decribe somwhere! I don't want to bother you guys with all my questions. I found a website of the compagny that produce it but, unfortunatly, it's in polish only.

I'll try to add a pics of my new purchase!

Nice trailer! You are correct that the front and rear windows are not original. I’m thinking they may be prone to leaks due to the angle in back and wind-driven rain under tow in front. Keep an eye on that.

As to operating instructions, most small trailers like this are pretty simple, and I don’t think folks here will mind giving you some basic information. Ask freely!

You could also look for a friend or family member with some RV experience and have them over for an afternoon to go over the various systems. Many people would enjoy getting to poke around a cute and relatively uncommon unit like this.

Best wishes in your new adventure!

Welcome ... and good looking Cadet. As Jon in AZ said, those are not the correct windows. They are ones I've seen in Cadets before. Does anyone know what they are from and if they're still available. Despite his concerns (and I agree) I'm looking for options for mine, or what's left of them. I may end up fabricating my own.

Thanks for the welcome! I do have inside pics but there's quite a bit of work to do before it looks preaty!

Thanks Jon for the advice! We had a few really heavy rain since I bought it so I check carfully and there seems to be no leak at all. Still, I haven't towed it while it's rainning so I'll keep an eye on it. Boler I've seed has hard cover for rocks over their window, might be an optopn it it leaks.

PC06 I have no idea where the windows come from unfortunatly. I'll keep it in mind if I ever find out!
