New Champion Telstra Owner

My husband and I just picked this cutie up for a great price and have been working out the kinks on the mechanics and interior from it sitting vacant for some time. We have had a class a, then a pull behind, then another vintage class a and now this! Would love to connect with other similar owners for tips and tricks. My number one concern right now is restoring the shell as it is faded and appears to be scratched. I will post this question on the appropriate forum but wondered the best process to remove the scratches before I top it with the number one vote on the forums..floor polish. Had considered the meguirs fiberglass restoration kit too. Any help on any of this would be appreciated!

Welcome to the list. I have used the Meguirs products but have found that the 3M Restore and Wax product to work much better.

GiGi, I am sorry I don't know what you bought. I have never heard of a Champion Telstra......... But would say, Congrat's to you.

(you seem happy, but for all I know you bought a new lawn mower because again, I have no clue what a Champion Telstra is?)

Do you have pictures? Would love to see what it is....

As you have read, there are options for making your exterior pretty...... I will let the pro's guide you there. Just wanted to say, Congrat's and Welcome!

Now I gotta go investigate what you bought!

Hi Gigi, welcome to FiberglassRV. You've landed on a forum that's niched for lightweight all molded towables. While we may be able to help you, you may find more/better answers that you seek on a forum that's dedicated to your brand or at least the same type of RV such as your Champion. May I suggest you try: www.irv2.com a large forum that's also owned by Social Knowledge the owners of FiberglasRV.

Telstra

Yes, thank you everybody for the warm welcome..didn't quite understand from the title that only towables were allowed ;( Was looking at fiberglass groups only. It is a class b (loosely categorized) rv. It appears as if it has leaked but only through the windows which the previous owner caulked tight. I will investigate the other site as well, thank you for the link. I did upload a picture composite of it to an album on here but can't quite figure out how to put it in the post. I did have a guy out tonight who said my scratches won't buff out that i have no topcoat left and you can see the starting of the fibermesh so for now i think i will just gloss it until i can afford a real deal paint job! Thanks again everybody!

Best of luck to you Gigi, truly. My philosphy is Love the One You're With and I'm sure you and your rig are on the road to making great memories.

Hi, Gigi- You are welcome here. We have lots in common- it's just that our focus is on the fiberglass trailers, so we're not going to be much help with drive train, engine stuff, and etc. But how to care for/restore your fiberglass, you can surely find some advice in our Care and Feeding forum... and of course feel free to ask questions about the things that are common to our rigs!
