Hello
fiberglass enthusiasts and campers alike,
I am the new owner of a 1972 Compact Jr. This trailer is in pretty good shape and from what I can tell is mostly original except for upholstery, door handle,
tires and spare. The wiring has been reworked a bit too. The best part is that everything works. There is a little floor rot near the door entry and the door needs a new locking knob. Any ideas?
I am excited to learn from all of you on how to restore this little trailer. I will be keeping it mostly original but updating the fabric. Why fix if it ain't broken...
I am located in Portland, Oregon and looking forward to crossing paths with you all. My goal is to get some nice trips in this spring and summer.
I am towing this unit with a 2003 Dodge Sprinter 2500. As the story goes this little jem was 1st found (garaged) on the Olympic Peninsula and then moved to the Long Beach Peninsula where it sat outside for 2 years. The trailer has minor surface rust.
My maiden voyage with it (the day/night I towed it home) was spent with a good friend and our two dogs at Cape Disappointment State Park under a full moon. If only John Meares had one of these... He may of not been so dissappointed. Lol.
Any advice or suggestions from fellow Compact owners is welcome. This is my first trailer and I have much to learn.
Chaz and family.
Seagulls Nest.
