New guy in centeal Virginia

Hello, one and all: I just recently attended a music (bluegrassy/Americana) event in Wyoming and would like to spend more time out there. A compact travel trailer seems a practical way to go. I once owned an Airstream land yacht and that experience steers me to a fiberglass unit. I also own a fiberglass sailboat (Tartan 37) so am confortable with frp construction. I've seen the Scamp and am attracted to sometimg similar.
Regards - Doug Long

Parkliner is made near Greensboro, NC. Call Tom Bass and schedule a time to go down and look at one.

Welcome, Doug!

There are a number of different manufacturers of molded fiberglass trailers ranging from simple and basic (Scamp) to top-drawer (Oliver). In addition, there are scores of "legacy" manufacturers whose products are still taking people where they want to go. Somewhere in the mix is the right one for you.

The "Manufacturers" tab at the top is one place to start. Know that several recent additions are not on the list (apparently the forum software doesn't support updates to the list). They include Happier Camper, Armadillo, Nest (a fiberglass design recently acquired by Airstream).

Classifieds are another. In addition to the listings on this site, make sure to check out Molded Fiberglass Travel Trailers For Sale | Fiberglass RV's For Sale if you haven't already.

Best wishes in your "egg hunt"!

I don't know where in Virginia you are, but there's a fiberglass mini rally planned for early November at Hungry Mother State Park. A good opportunity to see some examples of our eggs.

I originally planned to have the Fall Mini Rally much earlier but things ganged up on me. So it'll be same as last year, first weekend in November at Hungry Mother State Park. there aren't too many campgrounds open that late in the year, and HM is quite nice with a lot of opportunities nearby. Thurs-Sunday, Nov. 3-6
Again if we get between 10 and 20 participants I'll be ready to serve my cowboy stew Friday night and maybe my (fiberglass-) world famous SUMI salad. Feel free to pitch in with a nice veggie dish, breadish stuff or dessert, but not required.
It works best if you let us know you plan to come so we have an idea how many.

I hope to have as much fun as previous years with repeats and some new friends.

Welcome

Welcome Doug
I'm near Kilmarnock and have a S-16 DX, you are welcome to take a look. Like Walt said a FG gathering is the way to see a lot of trailers. In Oct. there is are also FG meets in the OBX and another in Cherokee N.C.

I wish I could get to that meet up...don't have a FG camper, but looking for one that fits the bill. Also, as a Hokie, would love to head back down to SW Virginia...beautiful part of our country! Good luck to the OP too on their quest. Have been thinking about scheduling a trip to see the Parkliners.

Parkliner

Ditto on the Parkliner recommendation. Call Tom Bass and he'll arrange to give you a thorough tour of the Parkliner and the manufacturing process etc. Great folks to deal with.
