It's cold here in Wisconsin,my 82 13 foot Scamp is covered with tarps, but the dining room table is covered with maps,so there is hope.I camp mostly at National Forest sites in WI,MN,and Michigan's U.P.With my federal Interagency Senior pass,I can afford the gas to get there. The one state park I never miss is Porcupine Mtn(the Porkies)on Lake Superior for their 3 day music fest the last weekend before Labor Day.Always a good time to be had.

Hi Al, welcome to FiberglassRV. If you've done any reading at all, you probably know we love pics. Any you care to share? The places you camp sound wonderful. When you go out and explore please post about your experiences. Some of us (ME!) live vicariously through others travels.

Welcome. I'm planning a trip to the UP this summer staying in NF and SF campgrounds. I'd love any suggestions that you might have.

The senior inter agency pass is an incorrect name. The REAL name is "Geezer Pass." FWIW. I learned this at the Tetons a couple of years ago when I showed my pass. The employee said "Oh. You have a Geezer Pass." He said it so it must be true.

Welcome Al, Darlene has been asking for years to go to the Porkies, maybe this summer. When is a good time to go?

If you're 62 or older, get the federal interagency senior pass.It costs $10,good forever, and gets 50% discounts at Nat.Forest campgrounds.I saw a post calling it the "geezer pass".For half priced camping, that works for me,too!

The 3 day music fest (2012,Aug 24,25,26) is located at the ski hill,so there are no bad views of the stage.Con....no adult beverages for sale. Pro...carry-ins allowed. And the Porkies during Fall Colors cannot be beat! The view from the scenic area overlooking Lake of the Clouds is a jaw-dropper.

It's good for more than half price camping at forest service campgrounds. Free entrance to national parks & monuments, other federal places (not all), half price at BLM and other federal campgrounds & campgrounds. I've had mine for 14 years and reach the break even price on my second use. They used to be free but haven't been for years. If yours is warn out, they'll give you a new one if it's beat up enough. Lose it though and you'll probably have to pay again.

Chequamegon-Nicolet N.F. in WI charge for "Trailhead Parking".It's $9.oo for annual.but no charge w/sr.pass.I was told to put the card on the dash where it's visible.I just got mine last Aug(2011) and plan on putting it to good use this Summer.

The pass also is good at most of the core of engineer sites, most of which were built by the CCC groups
Welcome

My late Father was CCC.I love exploring old historic sites.
The pass is also good at Nat Scenic Lakeshores.
