Hi, my name is Fin. My wife and I have tent camped for the last 31 years and are ready to make the jump to a small camper, hopefully a Scamp 13 or similar. I have a Montero Sport 2004. I'm an avid fly fisher person mostly in and around the Kern River and Bishop/Mammoth areas. My wife loves to read and hike. I'm also a retired contractor so very interested in finding a camper that needs some TLC, and general fixing up. Been a member here for awhile, just haven't posted yet. Look forward to the journey here! Thanks and any thoughts are welcome of course.

Welcome, this is the right time of year to find a good deal. If you're not afraid of a little/lotta work you'll have plenty of options.

No problem. Everyone must be out camping. Usually you'd have 5 or 10 people welcoming you to the forum. Very nice and helpful people here. Good luck finding your little project. Just remember when you see one you need to pounce. They are usually sold the first day or so.

Welcome! I'm in a Cabela's lot, checking in on the forum -- I did some work, learned a lot, and now enjoy traveling. Good luck on your hunt! If you glance through some of the forums you can get a good idea of price, condition etc. and work done to them.

There is always Craigslist (lots of scams), eBay, RV trader, etc.. but (in case you have not seen this yet), the single best place to look for sale ads (IMHO) is: https://www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com/

You can also look at the SOLD ads there to get an idea of fair market value.

Then again, it sounds like you would like to find one that someone has let go but not thought about selling. So it does not hurt to also cast your lines far and wide n addition to looking at sale ads.

Having indoor storage and workspace is so important! Sounds like you have that covered,.

Scamp 13 is a good choice and one you should be able to find.
