Hello all. Thanks for allowing me to be part of this group. I am actively looking for a 19 ft Scamp 5th wheel. I have located one that I like but I have a question. This is an older model and I have a full-size Silverado 4 wheel drive half-ton truck. Previously the unit has been towed with a Nissan Frontier. This older model is not lifted to the new manufactured height. Will this work OK with my truck? Will it travel level? If not how difficult is it to lift the body to the current height? I'm looking forward to your input and being a Scamp owner. Thanks,
Joe

I do not know where you are but there is a newer 19' for sale in northern WI on craigs list.
Also, if the one you are looking at has a bolt on axle, there may be a 3.5' lift kit for it. I used one on my 16'.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, this is a bolt-on so I'll check with Scamp and see if a lift kit is available. I'm only concerned about the rig towing level with a full-size half-ton. If I understood correctly the bed could not be more than 40" inches from the ground. I'm at 36 from the ground to the bed. The fifth wheel hitch with ball attached would put me at 40 or so and that is fine I believe. Anyway another learning curve!

It was there last week and gone now.
E-trailer will have lots of things you want. That is were my lift kit came from. Mine was a Lippert, yours may be Dexter.
There are several styles, they can help you get the correct one.
