[QUOTE=Gilda;796812]Unless you have compelling reasons to have a toilet and shower in your 13' Scamp, I would suggest opting out of that arrangement as they are heavy, take up a LOT of space and really are not used often.

Why would anyone want a trailer without a toilet? To me, that makes the trailer nothing more than a hard-sided tent.

And all the forum threads are full of people trying to justify their marginal towing capabilities, trying to tow trailers with undersized and underpowered vehicles.
You might be able to tow it on a flat surface with a riding lawnmower, with no breeze blowing, but get out there in the real world on one of those steep mountain passes and you'll get a rude awakening as to the 2 Liter tow vehicles dismal, if not dangerous, performance. Just sayin'.

Make that a hard-sided, climate-controlled, auto-set-up tent with built-in seating, table, beds, and a full galley.

A non-self-contained trailer replaces not only a tent but also a whole lot of related paraphernalia requiring set-up and tear-down at every stop. And by making my “deposits” throughout my stay I can bypass the long line of large RVs at the dump station come checkout time.

That said, the OP has indicated a preference for a bathroom, and there’s nothing wrong with that, either.
