New member intro

Hello,

I'm Leslie in Austin, Texas. I moved from tent camping to a Four Wheel Camper shell and now am contemplating a trailer. The main impetus for this upward creep is traveling with dogs (and maybe a cat). I want a secure, comfortable and cool place to leave my animals for 1 to 3 hours while I go out birding. I have to admit that I wouldn't mind a toilet and a shower also.

Welcome, I think Casitas are manufactured not far from Dallas. Might be a worthwhile trip. Call ahead, as they don't keep inventory, but likely have demos. I'm not sure about weekend hours.

Casita and most factory direct sellers will arrange to put you in touch with one of their owners in Austin for you to tour. The owner gets a modest spif if you do buy.

Hi, Leslie. Welcome to FiberglassRV.com. There are lots of small(-ish) molded fiberglass travel trailers around (I live just outside of Austin). Tom's right that Casitas are popular, in part because they're built not all that far away, and that if you contact Casita they will tell you who's local and willing to show theirs.

Going to a rally is a good way to see different rigs; the ones in Texas at this point mostly don't happen 'til autumn (too dang hot for rallies around here in the summer). You might peruse our Rallies forum and see if there are any you'd be interested in traveling to. (You can sort that list of threads by state/province.)

Best wishes on your search!
