New member, Old Casita from Atlanta
Hi everyone, I'm a new member from Atlanta, GA (downtown!). I just got a 2002 Casita 17' Liberty Deluxe. I'm in the process of getting it registered. It's a complicated process because I bought it from an individual and not a dealer. I need form T22 filled out by the police auto theft division; it will prove the trailer is not stolen.
I had a 2001 Aliner Classic that I loved, but I wanted an rv that didn't need to be set up. The Casita is perfect for me. I can set it up with twin beds with my sister or a camping friend comes along (or a grandchild); yet have a full bed for just me.
Each camping trailer has different modifications and storage issues. My first storage question for the Casita is, "where do you store your water hose?"
Thanks,
Soozee ATL

Hi, Susan. Welcome to FiberglassRV.com! We're glad you're here.
I store my water hose in the shower. I use a small plastic basket and coil the hose, so that it will fit more or less vertically. (Obviously I need to take a picture.) The water pressure regulator and Y-splitter live in the same basket, albeit in a zip-loc bag to keep them clean.
When we're in camp, the whole basket stays outside, under the fridge, out of the way. We have 2 hoses, one that's 10 ft, the other is 25 ft. We rarely use both together, so that there is usually one of them in that basket under the trailer.

Mary, thanks. Is it a small clothes basket (laundry basket)? Yes, I'd like to see a photo. I like your dancing figure. Looks like okra ;-)

Hi susan welcome to FGRV. And welcome from N.C. We use two big red plastic containers. Slide them in the camper before you leave. Take them out when you get there. Of course I have a Colorado truck with a roll up bed cover. So, I roll back the bed cover and then put them in the back of the truck when we get to the campground. In the process of adding a 2" reciever to the rear of the Scamp. Waiting on my welding friend to get time. Welcome again.

Welcome Soozee. We're Southerners from way down yonder in Sharpsburg GA. There will be several Casita owners getting together in Cherokee NC the weekend of Oct 17-20 so that would be a great time to meet some other owners. We have a Scamp, but I made a false floor in our front bath and store the hose (and a couple extra for longer runs) under the floor. If it still has a little water in it then the drain is right there.

Jes teasin! FWIW I made the same decision. I looked at the Aliner but decided that I wanted to be able to just park and get in. "Popping up", no matter how easy, just wasn't in my future.
I bought a used 2009 16' Scamp which I will be fetching from the boonies of Maine next weekend. I'm getting antsy to start my new FGRV experience!

Hi Susan, so glad you could join us
The nice thing about these small all molded towables is you don't absolutely need to "setup" anything to enjoy it. Some go out and use them like hardsided tents. No hookups at all. It's all about choice.
Make a ton of memories along the way

October in Cherokee sounds great. Which campground? I hope I can change some appointments so I can go. I like meeting people on the email lists.

It will be at the Happy Holiday campground. If you let them know you're with the fiberglass camping group they will give you a 20% discount.
Here's a link to the discussion on this forum; Cherokee
Hope to meet you there!

Too bad Snoozy is already taken as a name. I still have to give my Casita a name.
I can't make the Cherokee rally. I just checked my calendar for October, and I had already promised one of my sons that he and I could go camping together. We have to pick a place between Washington DC and Atlanta. Last year we picked the highest mountain in West Virginia, Spruce Knob Campground. I recommend it if you like primitive camping. Beautiful. I had a 2001 Aliner then.

Sorry, Susan. I got side tracked and forgot to go take the pic. Yes, the basket is like a laundry basket, only MUCH smaller. It's maybe more like a vegetable bin, or maybe for dog toys. It's about 12-14" wide, and 6-8" deep. The coiled hoses just fit in, standing on edge. I stow them in the shower (when we're underway) so it doesn't matter if they're wet.
And, yes. The smilie on my signature is a dancing okra pod. He's a cousin of . Use this for to display. Or go to the "More" section of the Smilies list, he's in there.

The basket we use is a white version of this one. As you can see, it's no big deal

Thanks, Mary. I found a plastic box to use in the meantime, but it's too closed up for water hoses. I'll hunt up a basket.
