New member/owner of Escape 17B

Hi all I am a new owner of an Escape Fiberglass 17 B Trailer. I am also new to RVing. Have tent camped my whole life, so this is a whole new chapter. Can't wait for spring to take her out.

Welcome to the fiberglass trailer life. You chose well (I may be bias). The E17 is a great trailer. We moved from tenting to a trailer about 7 years ago. After a lot of research we started with a vintage 13 foot fiberglass trailer and we were hooked. A few years later we moved up to a 15 foot fiberglass for the extra room. A couple of years ago we decided that we would try living in the trailer part time (4 to 6 months per year), so we bought a used Escape 19. We are thrilled with it so far. I hope your experience is as good. Have fun.

Nice!! I have been 'Playing with it since I got it and love it. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so I can go out and use it. What Year is your 19. That was the first one I saw, and loved it, but I have never pulled anything before, and wanted to make sure I can tow it with my Honda Pilot.

It is a 2012. It still looks good and everything functions as it should.

That is awesome. The one I saw was a 2014, and it still looked brand new. That is what sold me on these.

Welcome to the molded fiberglass community! Best wishes for many adventures in your Escape 17B. We've owned our 2008 Scamp 13' for 12 years now and still in love! We also tow with a Pilot (2011 LX 2WD, 256K miles).

Great to know. I have the AWD with the dealer installed tow package, which says I can now tow 5k, I have only towed it a few blocks from where it was dropped off to my back yard, but seemed pretty smooth. I looked at a Scamp Deluxe in person, and I loved the craftsmanship. I only went with the Escape due to the slightly bigger size and the bigger Black tank.

It should do nicely. I know a couple of forum members tow 19’ Escapes with your set-up (Pilot AWD and tranny cooler). make sure to follow the severe use maintenance schedule when towing. Compared to the Scamp 16D, it’s not much heavier, and it’s got a bit more room all around.

Congratulations and welcome. We bought a 2015 17b in October and are excited to try it out as well. We still have a 1978 Trillium 1300 that we bought in 2015 and may keep it for the kids to use or rent it out. We still tent camp when motorcycle touring. We just love camping. I hope you enjoy your Escape.
