Smile New Owners Here! 1984 Fiber Stream :)

Hello All!

Just checking in to introduce myself, and start skimming through the forums. I'm excited to be a new owner!

My partner, Susie, and I just inherited our new home away from home, and we are excited to begin the project of restoration. I'm sure we will have lots of questions, so we'll be visiting this site and the app!

Have an awesome day!

Yo Monica and Susie, to FiberglassRV, we're glad you're here

Lucky, lucky you to have someone who cared enough to pass a Fiber Stream on to you, where it will continue to be loved and used. Totally cool trailers!

I second Ted's request. Any pictures you can share?

Photo Request!

Thank you! We are soooo excited!

We are in process of transferring everything into our name, and it's a bit of an emotional experience for my Great Aunt, so we are taking it slow.

We hope to have some photos in the next couple of weeks… and we will definitely share, as well as register!

I'm curious to know what about this trailer you feel needs restoration?

Since this is a family heirloom, do you have any experience with camping in it?

1984 is close to the end of production of Fiber Streams. They went out-of-business and closed in 1986 at the top of "factory" output quality; not because of difficulty with the trailer, but because the principals of the company were old and in poor health, and could not interest anyone to buy and be (like them) the Labor as well as the Management. It was a small company and the trailers were custom assembled by these principals. They didn't have but one employee, and their overhead was minimal.

Hello Frederick!

Thank you for the information…. we are eager to learn as much as possible about this beauty.

We do not have experience with camping in it, so the only information we have about it has been gleaned from my Great Aunt. She seems to think that it will need some repairs, ie. new tires, water damage repair, etc.

We have no clue at this point if all the mechanics, electrical, water pump, etc. are in good working condition, so we are basically just ready to dive in and explore our new treasure!

We are leaving the country for some time, so in this moment, we are looking for a great cover, and weather prep. When we get back, it's on!

MONICA AND SUSIE - My husband Pete and I have a 1984 also. We got it April 2014 and have done lots of work to bring it back. When it became legal for us to marry in WA we took it on a 5000 mile honeymoon trip. It rocks. You will love it.

Feel free to email us if you have questions or concerns. I will try to get a picture on this site. Roger

Purchased Fiber Stream in 2013

We got our Fiber Stream in April 2013 not 2014 and headed south on a five week trip in October. Hit Morro Bay, Ca. for a week, Guerneville, CA. for a week, Palm Springs for two weeks and Payson, Az then headed up the coast of California to home in Washington. It was great weather, no traffic on coast. We're ready to head out in the fall once again. Great little Fiber Stream.

BAD NEWS FOR US...We had a no injury accident on I-5 that totaled our beautifully restored Fiber Stream. So sad. We will start looking for another RV in time, but for now grieving our loss. Luckily no other people or vehicles were involved, just a big bump, gust of wind, end of trip.

Welcome, Monica and Susie. Fiberstreams are rather rare and it sounds like you got yourself a nice one, coming with family memories and all.

Roger, SO sorry to hear about your accident, but really glad to hear that no one was hurt! Good luck on finding another home on wheels!

Hi,
Since you are from the sunshine state of California did you buy your Fiber stream in Santa Rosa? WE have seen one parked there for quite awhile and it is in need of TLC.

Hello Everyone!

We're back.... and excited to start getting into the repair process in our pretty Lady.

Here she is:

So far, it looks like there is water damage on the roof/ceiling...... the Fiber glass is dipping, due to the water damage, and the roof vent needs to be replaced. And, as a result of the water damage, the floor needs some work too. So, I'm sure we're going to need quite a bit of help. We are newbies... but pretty handy, and super excited!

Nice to meet you all! And, hello to the "family" in the FS group... we are happy to b here!

Monica and Susie
