new Thank-you, Thank-you!

Hello,
thank-you so much for all the info, it has truely been a life saver! I've been in a state park reading for the last two days. I had to leave my beloved "earthship" (house dug into earth, solor, greenhouse, really awesome).

I knew next to nothing about travel tralers, other than i need one to live in. I have a suburu outback 3.0. So a burro looks like the best bet? Your list on weights really helped and a thread about pushing the limits on weights. You guys have given me hope along with so much knowledge!!! My Dad was impressed on how much i knew. I'm going to go post questions.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I can't express how reasurring it is have all this expereince at my fingertips!!!

Welcome to FiberglassRV Becky. The dearth of information on this site is fantastic... and so are the members!

Welcome aboard. I'm sad you have to leave your earth ship - it sounds pretty neat. But your new trailer is going to be a pretty great adventure, too.

Donna, I am not normally one to correct spelling, (I'm almost functionally illiterate), but I hope dearth is not the word you were looking for.

Definition of DEARTH
1: scarcity that makes dear; specifically : famine
2: an inadequate supply : lack <a dearth of evidence>

Welcome Becky,
You live in a great state for RV'ing. In our pre-RV days we had an amazing trip to Santa Fe and surrounding area. In fact, we loved the "scene" so much that we named our tow vehicle and trailer after well-known NM residents. Mabel and Tony.
Good luck in finding a trailer--it won't be long before something perfect for you comes along.
Best wishes,
Phil

Jen meant to ask if you are happy wth the burro?

Thats funny about the spelling thing, was all stressed out this am and didn't want to deal with downloading a spellchecker, so humbly sent my misspelled post

Becky, I'm completely happy with it. But keep in mind that I've never had any other camper before this, so I'm working with an N of 1. I drove to Minnesota to pick it up, went through a "surprise! Gotta put in a new floor!" experience, and am now putting in a LOT of sweat and cash for a total refurbishment to my personal specs. So, all in all I'd better like it!

Well, one of the things I do like about the Burro having hopped into a couple of other models at the Mid Atlantic rally last year is the generous headroom. I'm not super tall or anything at 5'6" but I do appreciate the feel of roominess. I can't decide how I feel about the smooth fiberglass inner hull and how condensation behaves on it. But like it or not it's what I have and I'm living with it. Well, camping with it.

Donna, I smiled big time when I read that post. I've had similar brain cramps lately... called Pomeranians Pekinese and sweet gum balls sycamore balls.

It was a couple of days before it dawned on me what I had said vs. what I meant to say!

They say everyone has moments like that, but you don't have Alzheimers if you realize your mistake later. So far I'm hanging in on fixing mine!

And you?

I just will consider it an early morning brain cramp Sharon. Oh well, seems to have gotten a few chuckles...

Thank-you all so much, I learned I should go with a conversion van for now, saftey and less stress. Hopefully I will be back in a few years. I can't say how much you guys helped. I felt so alone and depressed and now i feel empowered. I can do this with the knowledge of others. I love your forum, very stable. It was funny I was realizing I should go with the van but i was resisting cause i wanted to stay here. I will use the bathtub ideas in the van. Happy travels to you all!!

Happy travels!

When I was 20 yo I converted an Econoline into a mini camper complete with fridge, sink, stove and porta-potty and did one lap of the USA in 6 months. It was the time of my life.

I hope you have at least as much fun.
