Hello everyone!

My name is Jed and I'm in the process of buying my parent's 1986 (same year model as I am!) U-Haul 13' travel trailer. My mom bought it a few years ago and has used it on numerous trips. She no longer wants it and is selling it to me. I guess I wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. There are some problems with it and I am looking forward to fixing them and making it a smooth running machine.

Jed

Pics to come soon!

Hi and welcome to the group.

Just a heads up, unless Mom was doing meticulous maintenance, it might be a good idea for your first task is to pull and repack the wheel bearings. This is oft neglected and a major failure point when neglected.

And I concurr, get ye to the ralley at Lake Casitas in less than 2 weeks.

Uhauls have sealed bearing hubs, they can not be disassembled and greased. It is however a good idea to check them for any play or roughness when spinning the wheel. If there is any of that at all they need to be replaced. They are available from uhaultruckparts.com, you can find camper parts under miscellaneous parts. There is more information about them in the document center on this site.
