New to us Casita and Hello from Michigan

Hi All -

We picked up our pretty much stock (except for a nicely done solar package) and very clean 2016 SD from a lovely couple about a month ago. Since then we have put on new (Goodyear Endurance) tires, a mattress topper, added front stabilizers (the same type as the rear- bolted to cross-bar), and some other comfort and convenience type mods...also have the shock kit and will be installing once it warms up a bit more. The image below is our new girl hitched up and ready to go get her new shoes on. We have not named her yet...... We have our first shakedown trip to a nice local county park in a couple of weeks- can't wait.... Looking forward to many happy years & trips with our Casita!

Congratulations! Sounds like a very nicely updated Casita.

Pictures are a bit tricky. After you choose the files, make sure to hit the “upload” button and wait for the files to drop down into the attachment list. It may take a while if the files are large.

I'm in Michigan too!! South of Detroit. I have a Trail Mite, which I'm told is identical to a Casita, except it's 50 years old. I just love it!! You are going to have so much fun!!

Hi all and thanks for the welcome and feedback -

We did by the Casita Book...which is great- and we live in the Grand Rapids area-
Actually will be doing our first shakedown trip this weekend at Wabasis Lake--- and a couple of trips up North planned later this summer. Besides that will be adhoc boondocking.
As I am retiring we are planning on taking her out on longer excursions to points south and southwest later this fall/winter- Casita snowbirds...

In fact I may have just came up with a name...Snowbird....hmmm..... I like it, maybe....what do you think?
