Hello FGRV people
I ran across this site not long ago, while doing research on how to DIY my current project.
After searching for months, I found a vehicle that seems to fit me needs. Its a 1978 Chevy G30 Conversion Van, with
Fiberglass shell.
What
sold me on this, was the engine was replaced not too long ago, and rust was minimal. Its a solid body and a powerful engine. Downside was the poorly executed DIY fixes and many seals needing to be replaced to keep it water-tight.
At this point, I have gutted the interior, and have been researching materials, this is a great project that has allowed me to learn a lot. I hope to later add a
solar setup, I estimate I could fit 400 watts of
solar if I choose, and 5-6 12v batteries. But thats a later phase, for now I am focusing on the basics.
Anyhow, I can tell this is a great community to share knowledge and I can't wait to learn more
