Notorious B.I.G.
Good Morning All,
it is my pleasure to announce the much anticipated arrival of our "new" 1981 17ft Bigfoot trailer!! We are so happy to bring her home! My husband, myself and three little ones are looking forward to a summer full of camping, bike riding, stinking, and hopefully some sleeping! It will be tight in there but we are determined to make it work!!
We have named her Notorious B.I.G .. aka Biggie Smalls and I hope to have her in tip top shape by camping season!!
We have a few mods to take of first, and lots of painting, sewing and decorating! Sounds glamourous no?
Thanks for all the help this site provides!
kindly,
Barb

Congrats. The trailer screams "1981". I'm looking forward to seeing photos after you've done your updates.

Rbryan, just so you know, the previous owners already "updated it" ..... . It's had it's fair share of cooks in this kitchen, but we've saved the best till last. I hope I have as much steam for this project in two months as I do right now!! . Thanks for all the well wishes, I think this site it what convinced me to buy a fiberglass trailer in the first place!!

Congrats on your new adventure! I bought a 1989 17-foot Bigfoot a few years ago. It was all original and I have done many upgrades since. Some of the information I posted might be helpful to you as you dig into future projects. Take a look at my registry page for some information and links. The search feature is also very useful but use the "Google custom search" option to find relevant posts.

Nice!!!! Personally, I'd worry less about making major mods right now and just spend some time (come summer) enjoying it with the kids. Let's face it---they won't care what colour the cushions are or whether or not the curtains match
..they just want to go!
After spending some time in it, you'll know what is important to change and what you can easily live with. I'd make any changes after that.
It looks great and you have a wonderful summer of memories on the way!

Thanks Theresa! My kids certainly don't care about that stuff, but we do need beds!! The previous owner sealed shut the overhead cabinet to bunk conversion and with three little ones, we will need that bed for sure! So we will have to open that up and re secure a bed platform. New sleeping foam mattresses are in order as well, if we are going to sleep cramped together, we are going to be well cushioned dammit!! . The sewing and decorating is the fun part for me, so it's work, but work I enjoy! I will be sure to keep everyone posted on the progress....
