Our fiberglass teardrop trailer - looking to do some mods!

Hello!
My husband and I just purchased a fiberglass teardrop trailer! It's totally campable as it is, but we're looking at making some changes to the layout to make it a better fit for us. I have some ideas in mind but we want to take it out a couple times before we commit to anything to really get a feel for what would work best.

I would also love to add a second door on the other side (it's very common for teardrops to have doors on both sides so you can get out without crawling over your partner) and I have a daydream of adding a skylight window but that might not be practical. I have no experience with fiberglass though so I'm looking to learn all I can!

Glad to be a part of this and I hope to learn a lot here!
Kelsey

Teardrop

Kelsey Welcome to the forum .This is certainly the right place for a fiberglass teardrop but i would like to suggest another equally good site and that is tnttt which stands for " teardrops and tiny travel trailers " . Many of the forum members on the tnttt site have built their own trailers so lots of good info there such as how to build and install teardrop trailer doors . Hope you enjoy both sites and look forward to seeing you at one of the gatherings . Lee and Norma

Welcome, Kelsey. What brand is your trailer?

@Lee Senn - Thanks for the info! I've actually been looking around that forum a lot and requested an account but am still waiting to be approved. There's so much great information there about teardrops. Add to that the knowledge about fiberglass here and we should be good to go!

@francene - Hi Fran, we actually don't know too much about it. We bought it from my Uncle and he bought it "from a guy" and that's all we got. It's registered as a Ubuilt, which around here means homemade. After looking at, we have a feeling that the original owner probably bought a pre-made fiberglass shell and trailer and then outfitted the interior on his own. The interior, to me, really looks like it was pieced together from the interior of an older RV.

Thanks for the welcome everyone! We're excited to try and get it out in the next few weeks!
