Our First Scamp Adventure (Picture Heavy)
My wife and I purchased our first fiberglass trailer in November, a 2003 13' Scamp. We are from Poway California, new parents, and excited about future camping endeavors. Our Scamp is the front bath, deluxe wood model, with air conditioner, awning and electronic brakes. We are towing with our 2007 Subaru Forester XT Limited.
This weekend we took her out for our first adventure to Agua Caliente County Park in San Diego's Anza Borrego Desert.
Here is a shot of the campground we took while hiking:
And some shots of us just after arrival:
There are certainly some things that we want to change up slightly on the camper, but overall we really had a great first experience.
We are still learning and enjoying the vast amount of info on this forum. Thanks!

During our stay we visited the Desert Mud Caves. A really incredible set of caves pretty much out in the middle of nowhere:
I'll leave you with a shot of our little guy hanging out in the desert (His nose had a little run in with the scamp carpet )

Loved the pictures! Looks like your maiden voyage was a smashing success. I hope it's the first of many, many!
And the little guy is adorable.

we camped with our kids from the time our eldest was 3 weeks....not in a fiberglass rig, but in a tent trailer (pop-up). you'll have some incredible memories to look back on!!

Well....at 5 months old Corbin (our little guy) is small enough to fit in a bassinet between our bed and the front bath. He also shares with us too . As he grows, well have to adjust.

Great pictures. Your poor little guy with the road rash!
Would be neat to see some inside pictures of your trailer.

Great pics. I like that park. I went there looking for a flower bloom, but alas it just wasn't happening that year.
Picts of the inside! ;-)

¡Hola! from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Welcome to the Forum. Congrats! What a great find in a Trailer.
Wow! What a great Intro & Trip Report & Super Photos all in one.
We have a 16' Scamp as well, we found the toilet seat a little too high from the shower floor, and the 'rim' of the shower/toilet platform a little narrow and using it as a foot rest was going to cause a crack in it, therefore, I bought a small sheet of wood sub-flooring and cut a piece to fix over the shower floor. It rest on top of the rim around 3 sides of the shower. It covers the floor of the shower when it is not being used as a shower. It makes a very solid floor for the bathroom & for using the toilet. It does cut down on the head room, my wife can stand up, but I can not do so without bending my head to the side. I have not found this a problem. If I am in there, I am setting down. Keep the floor of the shower clean as well.
Removable floor over shower floor:
The factory left a fairly large piece of carpet over the installed carpet (to keep it clean, I assume) which I used to cover the new shower subfloor.
With your neat looking Oak interior, instead of carpet on the sub-flooring, oak would look great.
Keep your reports coming. Enjoy!

The fisheye makes that bathroom seem huge! Too bad the doorway can't really be curved like that, it would look cool. Sort of like a porthole. Hmm, a hobbit-room?
