Ramblin' Rose
My Husband and i just bought our first RV! She is a 1984 Scamp (13ft) and we will be taking her on a month long road trip from Austin, TX to Olympia, WA starting next week. We have a grand adventure planned with several National Park stops along the way.
We are doing tons of repairs and remodeling before we head out:
new floors
Deep Clean
Repairing a side window
all new upholstery
fun paint job
fix some leaks
replace the yellow trim tape(<---any help here would be great!!)
and so on and so forth
this job is a lot more in-depth than we originally thought it would be but we are still very excited to put some work into this cute little Scamp. I have been reading a lot of the threads on here and it has been very helpful.
i will be posting before and after photos soon!

A new camper
Welcome to FGRV! How exciting to have a 'new' egg!!
Of course you are also checking and servicing the running gear, repacking wheel bearings, had the frame checked, etc.

Thanks Roger for the tips, we are definitely getting new tires and getting it all checked out.
Does that 50ft roll cover the whole scamp? do you know of any good alternatives? we are leaving town soon and don't have time to wait for shipping.

Welcome! And Congrat's! I too would love to see interior pic's! 13ft'ers are so cute!
I second Roger's suggestion of repacking the wheel bearings! It's a must especially when you just purchased and are planning a long trip!
Enjoy your trip!

Wait a minute! Love is like a Ramblin Rose is the MC5 not the dead. Yes I know the Dead did the Ramble on Rose song but our Motor City guys were two years before. And I must say a bit louder.
Of course that most excellent paint job would go well with either band.
In the picture it almost looks like on the front right you have a hint of a cloud with a silver lining and touch of gray. What is the Grateful Dead quote?

Elizabeth, Cool paint job! Did you hand paint the trailer? What type of paint did you use?

it was all hand painted, my own design. i used chalk to do the preliminary sketch and then painted it using a exterior latex. it has held up very well through sand storms, rain and snow. we have had a blast driving Rosie cross country and seeing the looks and smiles on peoples faces. we got to see 12 National Parks and one National Monument.
the trip we had was amazing you can see more photos here...
Scamp Adventure
we were also able to stop by Terrapin crossroads just outside of San Fransisco. it a restaurant/music venue started by Phil Lesh, bass player for the GD. he just so happened to be playing a gig that night...and played ramble on rose, my husband and i were so EXCITED!! perfect, and we just happened to stop by.
