Rental
I would like to rent a Casita or Scamp or something similar before I buy. My wife and I are scheduled to go to Hunting Beach SC next month. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
Phillip Cole

We'll be at Hunting Island last three days of this month. I don't think you'll find a Scamp or Casita for rent. How about one of those rental motor homes

I looked for FG rental myself, for a long time. I ended up buying one for $2500, equal to about 5 weeks rental of a popup.
Too bad UHaul doesn't rent them.

One thing you might do is find a different type small trailer for rent- I've seen T@Bs for example- and at least see if the overall experience is something you'd like. Could you live with a small space, do you like towing, etc. Over the years I've seen Fiberglass rentals but they kind of came and went.

We plan to go to Hunting Island next month ourselves. We don't rent out our EggCamper, but if we are there at the same time, you are welcome to visit and see how you like the EggCamper.

Hi Phillip, welcome to FiberglassRV.
Humm, think you're going to have a tough road to hoe to find a member willing to rent. BUT, it certainly doesn't hurt to ask

Here's a TOTAL longshot:
If you or any member of your family is connected to the military, I've heard that many base "recreation offices" have low cost trailer rentals, and in some cases they're Casitas. We've even seen a few of those come up for auction sales, so I guess it's true, at least somewhere...
I wouldn't have the first idea how to go about looking into this, but presume if you've any military "connections", they might know.
Good luck!
Francesca

We have twice seen military rental Casitas at the campground we are at in southern Georgia. This is in the last two months. We talked to one man that had one, he was active military, not sure where he was stationed, and he said this was not the first time he has used this trailer and that it's condition had deteriorated since when he first used it when it was new. There are also some campgrounds on military bases that are only for use by active or retired military personnel, and DOD workers.
