rot repair....

Hi all....new here but not new to RVing.I started with an ebay special 85 Tioga and learned a bunch by just jumping in on a collapsed roof and many other "adventures...

Have a 96 ,30ft Eldorado in great shape.ive gone through all the systems in the coach and the cab and chassis as well.Took us down to Key West,Tennesee,Iowa etc etc .No problems except it launched an idler pulley for the power steering A quick fix after driving with no power steering for the better part of a day.The newest issue...

I have a small amnt of delam above the passenger seat near the upper bunk. You already know that when I got into it it was more than I thought.Ive got the rot all removed and am down to solid wood and ready for reconstruction.I'll obviously dry everything out totally before I start.

My question is what is the best method of joining the new wood sections,do I screw and glue, should I treat each piece with a preservative for extra protection and what types of adhesives should I use to reglue the new luanne(sp) to the new wall supports?.

I only want to do this once so figured Id ask someone whos done this...

Some yahoo (not me)left the awning track screws exposed without the plastic strip and so the water worked its way all the way down to the very bottom of the forward bunk and just sat there. At least now I know what caused the problem. There is no delam anywhere else on the coach which is kinda surprising...Any help would be appreciatedd.Jordan

Hi Jordan. You've stumbled onto a forum that's dedicated to all molded towables. Our trailers are built differently that yours. Ours don't have inner frames, that's why we call them eggs.

While there may be members here that can provide you with information... you may find the answers you seek at a forum dedicated to trailer builds such as what you own.

May I suggest: iRV2 Forum | - RV Forum Community and RV News IRV2 is owned by the same group that owns FiberglassRV and I know you'll find the same helpful and kind people there.

Best of luck!
