Salutations

Greetings,
Well here I are, a reluctant fiberglass RV owner (1985 20' Bigfoot 5th wheel, single axel).

My husband and I (brand new-ly weds) just bought a house (without wheels) and soon found out why the previous owners were motivated to sell; we bought our worst nightmare, hazardous to our health, forcing us to buy another house, (this one on wheels) so we can live beside our house while we gut it. We don't even own a truck (and sure as heck can't afford one now)

Perusing this site I've determined 2 things:
1-This is a great community forum and I'm glad to have stumbled upon it.

2-We bought a lemon of a trailer, a dilapidated, leaky, rotting, home beside our mouldy home Like insult to injury.

I am somewhat comforted being a part of this community forum; thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experience.

Are you saying your BF is rotting cuz the pic sure looks like a stick built trailer to me. No idea to what the problems are to the house but I have to ask, didn't you have an inspection done on it? If so, you may have an out for some of the costs.

Yes, we had a home inspection.
Yes, one would think there would be some recourse... but no; that fine print gets them off the hook. Appreciate the input, we are 5 months into it now.

Parts of the floor of our BF are rotting, yes.

Hindsight is always 20/20. Foresight is easily blindsided.

She sure looks purdy

This won't mean much right now, but in 20-30 years, you'll be able to tell some GREAT "When we were first married" stories"!
