Scamp 13 or 16 ft Deluxe - where to LoOk for used trailer in Denver area?

I am new and learning, thanks to Everyone's help. Ready to start looking for late model Scamp 13 or 16 ft Deluxe. Haven't seen anything in person, just online.

How do you best avoid scams and rip offs?
What web sites are reliable and safe?
Is it a long wait if I ordered new?

Any advice appreciated.......McKenna

McKenna, along with the member for sale forum and Referall forum here at FiberglassRV, be sure to check out: Molded Fiberglass Trailers | Fiberglass RV's For Sale use the pull down at the top to chose Scamp and you can Search by state. Craigslist is a good option. As far as scams... use your head... if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Good luck on your egg hunt!

Spotting Scams/Scammers

Spotting Scams:

If any one of the following is part of an ad/offering it has a 99% chance of being a scam

1. Price is way below market. (If a seller is on-line, they are smart enough to know real values)

2. If "Free Shipping" is offered (You don't ship a trailer for free)

3. If it is crated or stored in a warehouse somewhere.

4. If it comes with a money back guarantee (and this usually includes the offer for free return shipping)

5. If it can't be seen before purchase (usually includes #4)

6. If there is a "Story" associated with the reason for selling. These range from a death in the family, to having to move for a new job, to claiming to be a service member that was just shipped overseas.

7. If it requires sending any money outside of the U.S. or Canada (Often to a bank in the UK)

8. If the seller wants to use a buying/selling service such as eBay or Yahoo to process payments. These do not exist.

9. If there are major grammar and/or spelling errors in the text or the use of unusual abbreviations such as "advert", it often indicates a scammer in Nigeria.

10. If the trailer and the seller aren't in reasonable proximity to each other. (But there will be a story to explain that as well)

11. If the seller refuses to provide a verifiable home address & phone number.

12. If they want the deposit sent via Western Union (can't be traced at pick-up point)

This is just the top 12 of at least 100 different red flags that have been seen in scammers ads, both on eBay as well as on ad sites such as Craigslist and Kijji etc.

BIG TIP: Most scammers use multiple listings at the same time. If there are key words or a phone number in the ad, Google it and see what pops up. Recently such a search turned up over 30 ads in different locations for the same trailer.

BIGGER TIP: If you think you are cheating someone else on a deal, chances are they are really cheating you.

BIGGEST TIP: As Donna said, "If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is to good to be true."
