Scamp Renovation by a GIRL!!

lol, I know there are more of us out there!
My husband and I purchased this scamp as a solution to our growing family becoming too much for our GMC motorhome (we have 5 kids under 10). Think of it as a room addition! I'm doing most of the work because he's been swamped with his business and it HAS to be done asap!
We are driving to Maine in September, so I have about 6 weeks to transform this baby to be road ready (and kid friendly!).
Here is the before pictures. Can't wait to post the after pictures!!

"You go, girl!" My only observation upon seeing you have to rebuild some of the wooden seat framework is that I am glad once again I got a Burro that uses all integral castings for those parts. I hope all goes well and that your brood will enjoy the finished product.

Regards,
Froggie

I am impressed. Your husband and kids must be proud of your efforts. I would love to see pictures of that first Maine visit.

Hi, Kate

Can't wait to see pictures of the Scamp behind the motor home!
What a head turner it's going to be.
Keep us "posted"...

Is that GMC one of those cool old fiberglass models with front drive?
As for the thread title, what's with all the apparent surprise?

Wow Kate, I wish I was that handy. I could save a lot of money... but where would I find the time? Please post more pictures when you go to Maine!

Scamp re-do

WOW, that's a lotta work...but you can do it...looks like the basic framework is there...
Us girls can do anything - I did a ton of stuff in ours - a new converter, faucet, floor, additional shelves, new upholstery & curtains - and my husband handed me a screwdriver once, I think...
PLEASE post pics when you're done!!

You go Girl! Lots of girl power here to support you! Do most of my own repairs and mods but more in line with Sharon's undertakings, scarest for me was cutting the hole in the roof for a new fan - you have really upped the marker on with your trailer project. Keep the photos coming.
