Hi, I’m Alex, I’m the proud new owner of a 1993
scamp 16’ and I couldn’t be more excited! The trailer is in great shape and just needs mostly cosmetic updates (it’s straight out of the early 90’s in there, but then again so am I).
Today i took a creeper for a look around the underside of the
scamp and thankfully the frame and the OSB are in great shape. I only noticed one weak spot in the
fiberglass up in the wheel well, i can access it pushing down from the
fridge control panel too. Has anyone else had this issue? Wondering if i should try a
fiberglass patch or if there’s a better way. The spot is tiny, size of a quarter or so.
I also plan to take out the old brown carpet and replace with cork flooring! I’ve seen plenty of floor replacement threads here that I’ll revisit and I am also open to any suggestions. One of my main questions is, when I have the carpet taken up and the glue scraped, is there a coat of some sort of
paint I should be considering putting down underneath the floor underlayment while everything is already exposed?
Also..this is quite the luxurious idea..but has anyone had luck with those 12v heating element pads that roll out underneath flooring? I’m toying with the idea of installing one or two of those for when I’m connected to shore power
Thanks!
