Snowbirding in a Scamp?

Well, we have been in an RV here in KS for a month and getting ready to move into a house but I have seen 1 13' Scamp and 2 16' Scamps which appeared to be on their flight south for the winter. Most people moving through are coming out of IA, MN, WI and IL and I am guessing headed for TX. Staying in a small trailer is possible if you are in a place with nice weather and are able to get outside and like getting outside. I was surprised to see 3 here since we usually don't see them on the road in KS. Funny to see them sitting next to a 40' motorhome or 38' fifth-wheel. Davey and Goliath? Another interesting observation is that small dogs come out of the large RV and big ones out of the small RV.

That is same for apartments in NYC, a mansion on 5th ave has a poodle, whereas a loft in the village has a great dane???

Cathy I suspect you might be a little surprised at the number of small fiberglass trailers and P/u campers down in southern Arizon & S. Cal in the winter as well.... I saw a fair number traveling into Mexico as well last winter.

We have talked about Snow Birding but do not know the towing laws in the US as they would apply to Canadians. Having pulled enough to know that our rig is safe and we meet all requirements by Canadian law; they sound quite different looking at the site in the US.

You sure about that Borden? Have you bother yet to pay to sit with a lawyer in Canada for an hour to have your assumption confirmed? You seem to want to forget the simple fact that it is not just the basic towing laws that will be enforced on either side of the border. The term " knowingly and willfully" echos daily off the walls of courthouses on both sides of the border.

I think that Canadian towing laws are actually a bit tougher than those in the U.S., especially with regards to equipment- aren't surge brakes deemed non-compliant with RV trailer brake requirements, for example?

I'm pretty sure that you'd do just fine south of the border...come on down!
