Thinking about buying a Trillium

I'm interested in buying this trailer, his best price is $1500.00. Nothing works (gas, electric, and water). My wife isn't too keen on the trailer but I'm quite handy and should be able to do something to get it looking respectable. Love this site, lots of knowledgeable and helpful members. If I decide to buy I know I'll have a lot of help here. Do you think $1500.00 is too much to pay. Thank you, Jiggerman

About the going price for a fix-er-upper. If it has a decent suspension then you can get it home and the rest is up to you.

This sounds like a good price if the basic trailer is structurally sound and intact. The nice thing about these older fiberglass trailers is that you can fix everything! They are very much like the old VW vehicles I work on, too. If you have the time and the inclination, you can re-do them any way you desire. Have fun!

Below are my on-going projects: 1968 single cab VW pickup, 1969 VW autostick Beetle, 1986 UHaul VT.

Not too many of those old PU's around. Didn't they have a slightly bigger engine?
What does the VT stand for in your trailers designation?

Hello, Want to thank everyone for their help. Finally bought the Trillium ($1350.00) and got it home today. I figure if I put $1000.00 in the trailer I should have something really decent. I'll send updates on my restoration. No, I won't be hauling it with the Meteor. Thanks again< James

I believe the CTs were Camper Trailers and the VTs were Vacationer Trailers. Vacationer is what is printed on the side.

I think you did the right thing, & got a good deal in the bargain. So what if it needs work - you got it cheap enough to justify spending money on it. & then you'll have really made it "your own" GOOD JOB!

Congratulations! We've seen worse that have come back to beautiful conditions. Get it clean and safe to go down the road, then go camping. You'll discover for yourself what mods you want to do.

Ive seen worse ones pulled out the bush, and seen what they look like after and the pride that the owner has after the unit is comleted. The knowledge gained restoring these eggs and effort is priceless,go for it klaus
