Two? Yes, two. I blame my daughter.

My daughter texted me early morning a couple days ago. "Dad! These are Hella cool!"

Oh great, what now?

Oh my god, she's right. These are hella cool (her term, not mine).

On the Facebook Marketplace in Bellingham WA were two 1970's Ventura travel trailers. The price could not be beat. I've been keeping my eyes open for a small fiberglass trailer for a while and here they were, only 378 miles away.

I take the next day off work and head over to pick them up. Little did I realize they were a little stuck int he mud. They haven't moved since at least 1990. The only license plate on either expired in 1978.

It only took 4 1/2 hours to dig them out and load them up, one unplanned night in a hotel, and another 8 hours home. I am sure that is only the beginning of unforeseen challenges that lie ahead.

Michael
I have last winter completely gutted and rebuilt my 13' Ventura trailer.
Check the lower floor first for water. This is a bit of a job but you can remove the existing plywood which is bonded to the fiberglass.
Let me know what you're up against and I will help you out.
It is a great trailer. weights in at 1450lbs. with propane tanks.
Pulls straight. Not to hard to redo, just time.
Hear from you
Good luck
Murray

I think you deserve an award for most difficult retrieval!! Flat tires, stuck in the ground....wow!

Interesting find, two trailers.

Have fun with them.

I would never have figured out how to post pictures without your help. I was trying to use the picture icon above.

Thanks,

Thanks Murray. I am sure I will need more than a little guidance and help along the way.

the picture icon (and resulting [img] tags) works with images that are stored on a photo hosting website that allows image linking, such as smugmug.com ...

Close to be ready for camping soon, eh Micheal?

Keep us up to date with your progress as you work on them. We love watching these trailers come back to life.

Great that you will be saving not one but two! Maybe one of them for your daughter?

The picture Icon lets you post photos from the internet by pasting in a URL where that photo is located on the internet. It can be handy at times when you are showing things such as the photo of a product you purchased and want to feature in your thread. But it is not for uploading photos from your computer. It only works with URL links to photos.

Actually my wife and I were discussing that in the way home. My daughter is getting married in May and we agreed that since my daughter brought them to my attention, giving them one of the trailers (completed of course) would be a great wedding gift.
