Wheels
Hi,
I'm looking for 13" wheels for my Uhaul camper trailer. 1 would be great, 2 would be fantastic!!!! It's a great camper, but I need new wheels because right now I'm using a donut wheel and I know it's not going to last long. Hope someone can help. I've used this camper more than 10 years and I love it!!!!! Thanks

Go To Tractor Supply or to Northern Tools and you can get the rim with a tire already mounted.

U-Haul wheels are different. Pat, if you want to buy new from U-Haul, see if this information in the Document Center helps you: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/d...do=file&id=149

Can't get Uhaul wheels at tractor supply. they have a different bolt circle and odd offset. They are available new from Uhaul on their ebay site. Part number is 23516006. Info is on the Uhaul Facebook site

Is the info there on buying the wheels on the Uhaul ebay site? I only found outdated info on buying from a Uhaul service center.

If he is using a donut wheel, where did it come from? Bolt pattern?

Pat, UHauls don't have 'standard' rims. There is an offset that prevents 'stock' rims from being used. So I'm wondering how you are running on a donut tire. Could you post a photo of your trailer, and also the tires? Possibly you don't have an original UHaul axle? If so, your tire shopping might have just become easier

Uhauls have a 5 lug 4.75 bolt circle. same as 1993 to 2002 Camaro and Firebirds. The sealed bearing hubs from these cars can be used on the Uhauls. That info should be in the document center. Supposedly the late model Corvairs, '65 to '69, had the same bolt pattern but I don't know if they had a donut spare

It would appear that Uhaul rims are not that odd as suspected.
If the donut rim fits, try putting on a rim from the car the donut came from.

It's the offset that is odd, and I think the GM rims are 14" where Uhauls are 13. If those rims fit, the search for spares would have ended a long time ago. If you saw a Uhaul rim you would see the difference, they are sometimes called a "bubble rim" because the center sticks out so far

Thanks to efforts by a Uhaul owner on the Facebook group, Uhaul corporate has agreed to sell the rims to the public through their ebay store. They are in stock, reasonably priced, and are still used on rental trailers, therefore their availability. Previously one had to find a Uhaul service center that was willing to order them and sell to the public, and many service centers did not want to do so. If someone wants to try non original rims, go for it, but good luck with clearance issues.

My Career in equipment sales had me involved in the rental industry and U Haul was one of my clients. For years they tried to have equipment that was sturdy and dependable but they were also concerned with customers renting something and swapping parts from the equipment for their own use. They wanted to discourage tire rotation. That is a customer rotating his worn tires for the newer ones on their rental unit. They did this on moving trucks also.

When I was in Detroit, GM had their name on everything including the paper staplers.
I once read where a company had lite bulbs with the threads going the other way so employees could not use them at home.

I've seen left hand thread light bulbs, might even have one. They can be bought on Amazon and from numerous other suppliers. Sometimes they are used in special voltage situations, sometimes to prevent theft.

Apparently the rims aren't always available, but Tom Griebe posted this link on the 21st [U-Haul Facebook site], saying they were again, currently.......

I'm old enough to remember when Detroit Edison gave out free light bulbs.
