Cancelling scamp order
Has anyone had to cancel their Scamp order? We paid our $500 deposit about 2 weeks ago so I know the build is under way.

You need to contact Scamp. I know how it generally worked in the past, but things are different now under the new management with much shorter build times. My guess- assuming yours has actually entered production- is that you’ll forfeit your deposit, but you are not obligated to complete the full sale.

Sounds right, I doubt you'll be obligated for any more than your deposit.

It's good to see that even with current short build times, Scamp still allows for a "cooling off" period. That likely means they do not start the build for 30 days, and it looks hopeful the OP will be able to recover their deposit.
Scamp used to reach out a few days in advance of the build start to confirm option choices. That became your last chance to cancel with a full refund. My guess is they probably still do.
Gotta love Scamp!

I am referring to Micah Eveland, who advanced to general management (mid-to-late teens, maybe?), and who seems to be the driving force behind the company these days. The pace of change is unprecedented: new door design, factory expansion (which is a big reason for current short lead times), composite floor, Lite series with available colored gelcoat, annual factory-hosted rally, and a new sales and service facility in Phoenix, all in the last 4-5 years.

(from the Scamp web page)
In 2020, Kent retired, and his son Micah assumed the role of President. Today, Scamp continues to innovate, introducing new features starting in 2025, such as all-composite floors, new acrylic insulated and tinted windows, and the latest model, the Scamp Lite.
