I originally posted this request on the Casita club site and someone suggested I post here for additional assistance. We have an opportunity to purchase a 1991 16' Casita from an older gentleman. I have had trailers in the past and have check all the systems and integrity on the trailer and all appears sound. The question I have is that from the checking I have done on Casita is that this one appears different. The differences include, the fixed bed in the rear, alot of wood inside instead of fiberglass, the roof AC (emerson quiet cool) is installed in the roof in a recess so that it is not any higher than the roof crank open vent. This is a Casita verified on the title document. Can anyone shed some light on this? He is asking $2000 which seems reasonable. It requires alot of elbow grease for general cleanup.

I have not seen one like this before but that has little to do with the speed with which you seal the deal?

BUY IT!

Nothing about it from what I have read here and there says otherwise.
What exactly are you waiting for?
If you don't want to say here just email me with the Telephone number and address of the trailer and I will "Look Into It" for you.

Ed

We are not kidding,Snatch this up before it is someone elses, really.

It's obviously had a major interior re-do. The thing I'd be concerned about is that roof AC, although if the roof was properly reinforced, it's probably okay. (1991 vintage Casitas would not normally be able to support a roof AC.)

Your Casita will be one of a kind. It may be slightly heavier than normal, because of all that wood (instead of fiberglass cabinets), but from the pics it looks beautiful and the price is certainly more than reasonable.

That's all a long way 'round of echoing the prevailing sentiment: go for it!

I did send information to Jay at Casita and this is his reply:

From the VIN this does indicate it is a '91 Casita. However, it looks like the whole interior exept the bathroom has been renovated. All of the wood furniture must be custom, Casita has never produced it. I'm not sure how to answer your question, but this is a casita that has had alot of customizing. Call us if you have any questions @ 1-800-442-9986 and we will be happy to help youthanksjay

We will be buying the Casita and as we clean it up we will keep you posted. Thanks to all for the assistance.

Best Regards,
Bob Caldwell

Is that in 2008 dollars, Mike?

I ask because that's how long ago the O.P. posted this thread...

This is Texas we use Pesos down here.

Someone did one of those confangled computer switch tricks on me.

I just opened another thread on recent discussions and it was from 2010. This is like Back to the Future or Deja VU - and no beer yet.

The shell and running gear alone are worth $2K, having an interior that nice is one HECK of a deal.
