Intermittent Trailer Plates in WA?

I noticed a statement on the back of my annual Scamp 13' Washington State registration renewal suggesting I might try to register as an intermittent trailer for a one-time permanent cost (~$187.50) versus the $72.50 or so per year I pay now. I looked up the details, and think I qualify!

Trailer and plate requirements
Trailer:
  • Must be registered in WA
  • Have a standard license plate, or A restored plate that was issued by us the year the intermittent-use trailer was manufactured
  • Must be in good working order
  • Have a scale weight of 2,000 pounds or less
  • You can use them for: Club activities, exhibitions, tours, and parades, occasional pleasure use
You can't:
  • Rent them to the public - personal use only
  • Use them for commercial or business purposes

Has anyone with a small fiberglass trailer successfully registered this way?

Cool

Hey there, I want to mention also that at $30.00 a trip 3 day permit the one you are highlighting is also an alternative.

Both my 84 Burro and 86 Cadet are so registered. I feel like I am saving a ton. "occasional pleasure use" is not defined so is rather ambiguous. I feel like I could use it for months at a time without running into difficulty with the law since my definition would fit the occasional use definition since I am not living in it full time. I used the "classic" plate they gave me when I registered. I say go for it.

Registry
My Trillium has been perma-registered this way for years, never a problem.

I just did this in AK. Extra $25 for a "Z" tab so I don't have to renew registration again
