We’ve had a number of discussions here about it, your input has been a good data point. I have also heard from a number of others who say it hasn’t been an issue - for them. Maybe Moot is another one. I’ve been collecting input to help me make our decision.
I don’t think there’s an absolute right or wrong answer here, it really depends on the individual. Given that I have got a lot more pro-storage votes than negative-storage. Small sample size, but on this forum I’ve talked to maybe five people who have it and say it’s fine, and against is you and maybe one other person. And comparing to say the Escape - has anybody ever complained about the extra front tongue storage box on that? Not that I’ve heard.

Threads like this are about opinions.
Moot said "make sure" (an absolute) where "consider" would have been a better choice of words. I did "make sure" we did NOT get a front storage box and gave our reasons why. Sometimes some people don't want to hear contrary opinions. Others, like Oldwave did "make sure" he got the storage box and has his reasons. We don't camp the same as John and he doesn't camp like us. The only winners are the ones who made a correct, informed choice. I don't believe everyone should "make sure" we got the storage box and we're happy we didn't.
We were hoping the
Escape 23 was actually 23' long, but it's not, it's 25' long. We wouldn't need or want that small flimsy
Escape storage box. Like our
Bigfoot, the Escape 23 would have been better for us without a front storage box. We've had 16 previous campers over the years and none had, nor did we need, a front storage box, but that's just our needs.
We're all different,
