Most of what it's worth will be driven by the trailers overall condition, including any damage from leaks, other deteriorization or damage, appliances that work, (or don't work,) other optional installed features, etc.
There really isn't a "Blue Book" for pricing used trailers, per se. Sight unseen, I wouldn't even hazard a guess, as it is a "pig-in-a-poke" so to speak.
I know that this is of little help, but there is no definitive selling price guideline for used trailers, especially for something that old, (42 years and counting.) And especially now, during this Post-Covid time, when many people who bought trailers and RV's during the pandemic so that they could do things together, but maintain distances, and are divesting themselves of them now and returning to hotels, cruises and resorts again. The RV market currently has a "glut" of used trailers and RVs.
I'd check around on the RV and trailer forums in their "For Sale" areas and see what comperable trailers are going for. All I can say is that most people don't want a trailer of that "vintage" with so many for sale right now. Many recreational vehicle dealers are currently struggling now trying to move many much newer ones sitting on their lots these days.
The bottom line, don't expect to get much for it. Sorry.

There are two prices for every trailer. What the seller wants to sell for and what the buyer wants to pay. It's up to the two parties to come to an agreement.
We can't give even a ballpark price when we know nothing about the trailer. Not even what it looks like. IF you want the best price possible, make certain it's clean, everything works as it's supposed to and it's camping ready.
I don't agree with Greg "The bottom line, don't expect to get much for it. Sorry." Fortunately the Trails West (and all the Hunter cousins) are among the lightest trailers built and there are plenty of people with small(er) tow vehicles looking for a trailer... especially one that's camp ready. The trick will be to find someone, so you'll need to advertise it every place possible. Just keep track and let folks know when it's sold. That's the polite thing to do.
Good luck

Well, Donna, I don't see it commanding a premium price in any sense. Yes, it's lightweight, and that's a feature that many people want in a trailer because they may not have the towing capacity for heavier trailers, but I would still have to say that I wouldn't think you're gonna get much for a 42 year old trailer. Just my take on it. YMMV

Well Greg since neither you nor I own a Trails West (or any of the cousins), it may be best to let those that really know these trailers answer the OP's question.
Julie, IF you're a Facebook user, here's a Group that may interest you for information:

And, I've got a bud, who's dang knowledgeable, specifically about these trailers. I've sent him a message and hopefully he'll be able to help you.

Well Donna, I do agree that neither of us owns a Trails West trailer, my thoughts were leaning more towards not so much Trails West as a brand, but toward selling a 42 year old trailer in general, not necessarily who made it, but how old it is. I'll leave it at that.
Hope to see you at another gathering again someday, but I no longer make any of those "6 months out" reservations anymore. (Heck, these days, I don't even buy green bananas.)

Julie, do some reasearch on trails west campsters, compact jrs compact two's on campers sold on this website and compare condion to yours. Then post some pics on a for sale website, interior, exterior and description of condition of elec, plumbing, propane, roof canvas, tires, etc. Put a value of some amount you would be pleased to sell for and see what offers you get. What Donna said is good info. You can message me directly also if you like. I have a 1970 Campster and prices all vary but there are recent sales in the last year to work from.

+100 its all about condition. Could be worth x, could be worth 5x. No pictures, no idea.
I looked at several vintage fiberglass trailers, passed on all of them due to condition problems. The ones I passed on were worth nothing to me, but others bought them. I would say the Trails West does not have the following that a Boler or a Trillium have. Those brands in poor condition can still bring good $$.

I agree with the opinions that no estimate can be even wildly accurate if you don't know the condition of the trailer. The Hunter Jrs and Compacts do have a following because of their rear door and lighter weight but no one knows how that translates to cash . I have bought or sold a couple of Compact Jrs for around $2,600 to $2,700 in safe and usable condition , but Hunter Jrs and Compact IIs often sell for a bit more as their styling is different. (better?) But I have see a good or remodeled Jr sell for above $10,000 because you have to invest that much, including labor or outside craftsmen. I sold a 'decent' Compact Jr this year for around $7.000 after putting quite a bit of work into it and was happy with the price. I think that's about the same for an older Scamp in original condition. Let's see some photos and facts and continue the discussion !
