First, I decide to pay Washington property taxes online. I pay the whole year at once because if I don't, I forget the second installment since it isn't the same time as California's. I try paying with a credit card-nope, not going to do that, $20 fee PER parcel. So I go to a check (straight 1.50 fee, which is okay, saves worrying about mailing large checks.) I put in my parcel number, check number, etc, check that I want to pay the whole tax year. Get the confirmation- and it is just going to pay the first half! So I cancel that. Start over. Now only the second half is available to pay. Aargh!

So I paid the other parcel and will check back on this one tomorrow.

So then I think, I should pay my PTI for the trailer on line. Now, you have to understand, California manages to get your smog certificate online, and you can pay your car registration on line. But can you pay your trailer registration online? No. That needs a check mailed in. Why?

I'd probably be more in the mood to do this if I hadn't just finished income taxes!

Bobbie,

I feel your pain.

Just be glad we don't get all the government we pay for.

Ugh!

I hate that stuff. My wife and I did our taxes really early this year. Nice to get it the heck out of the way so that it's not a headache as the deadline looms.

Talking

Property Taxes = impound account with mortgage company; paid with each monthly payment.

Income Taxes = Tax Preparer appointment always the 1st week of February. I give him all my records for the year, and HE fills out the forms.

DMV = Saturday Mornings at the AAA office for Purchases/Sales; checks by mail for renewals. Sacramento always mails the notices 3 months prior & I always send payment as soon as I get it.

I cannot wait until I have to renew my DRIVER's License. Next time will require a trip to the actual DMV office.
