If your 500 W amp is actually running at 500 W, it will be consuming 41 A. I would get a converter that can supply at least 45 A:
Mighty Mini All-In-One System AC/DC Power Distribution Panel and Inteli-Power Converter
Bob will be so proud of me.
I would put a battery between the converter, and the amp. Then, if it causes your lights to pulse, try a capacitor as well.

My brother has 2000W of thump in his truck. He says it moves so much air that it acts kind like a fan and helps keep him cool.

Batteries are rated in Ahrs, (Amp hours). A set of 6 VDC golf cart batteries would have on the order of 240 Ahrs capacity. If you want your batteries to last you don't draw more then half of that capacity, or 120 Ahrs. If you are drawing 40A, then you have 3 hrs of full volume.

I agree with the battery, that becomes your primary power source just like in a car, then design the power system to replenish the power drawn from the battery.
Just with that system please never camp near to where we are camped

Better off with a boombox. Easier than trying to install all that in a small trailer.

I have read somewhere that the cars with the big stereos often have a second battery because of the large loads. Seems plausible.
Stereo systems can be another source of phantom loads since they can use a trickle of current even when off. Perhaps a reason for a battery cut off switch.

As the walls of an FGRV are basically acoustically transparent, even using a fraction of that power will lead to an immediate and cruel lynching by any other campers within 3 miles of your concert venue.
FWIW: As several of my ex s.o. have commented, apparently via direct experiences, the higher a truck is jacked up and/or the bigger the sound system, the more the owner is compensating for other short falls.
Although I have no idea of what it means, I was advised of this formula by one such s.o.: "For every 2" of height a truck is raised, or for every 100 watts of power over stock, subtract 1". What ever that means.... LOLOLOL

Well, at 2000+ watts, my brother must be very "short".

Your going camping, Not to a Rock Concert. Keep the volume down please. Respect others in the campground. Some people may be napping.
